A Correspondent

GOLAGHAT: The Golaghat District Go Palak Sanstha on Monday threw away about 1,000 litres of milk into the Dhansiri River in Golaghat to demand due value of milk.

The dairy farmers have been facing various problems and they have to buy cattle feed at a high rate, about Rs 900 to Rs 1300, but the dairy farmers receive only Rs 30 to Rs 40 per litre of milk. In this context, the Go Palak Sanstha has approached the authority concerned several times but failed to get a positive response.

The dairy farmers are finding in difficult to run their business under such circumstances and hence they have demanded the government and the department concerned to increase the price of milk per litre.
