Assam sprinter Hima Das has continued her gold run as she bags the sixth gold medal in a row on Saturday. Hima was competing at Women’s 300 in Athleticky Mitink Reiter 2019 in the Czech Republic.

The ‘Golden Girl’ has taken to announce her latest feat through a tweet in which she has mentioned it that she has finished top in the 300m race.

This has to be mentioned here that the recent Gold medal by the sprinter is number six of the year after she made a superb comeback last month. The last gold medal won by the sprinter was in Czech Republic only that she won on July 20. Hima Das had started her gold rush on July 2 and since then to till this day, there are 6 gold medals in her bag now.

The last gold won by Hima was in a 400-metre event in which she clinched the medal clocking a record of 52.09 seconds. Her season-best timing was 52.88 seconds before Saturday’s event. Also, her personal best is 50.79 seconds, recorded at the Asian Games last year.

It is to be noted that this is a roaring comeback by the Ace Sprinter from Dhing in Assam after she had failed to complete the 400-meter race in the Asian Athletics Championship in April this year because of a back spasm. This was the first time she was competing in the 400-meter discipline since then.

Although the sprinter is in good form now, yet, her coach is in a state of worry for her as she is yet to touch her record best timing which she is lacking right now for a certain break of 45 days that she took from her practices. notably, Hima had appeared for her board examination in the month of February-March this year which hampered her practices and she lost her former good tempo.
