Hindu Parishad appealed to the Bajali administration to stop gambling during Diwali

PATHSALA: With Diwali round the corner, several gambling dens have become active. In view of the peaceful celebration of Diwali, Hindu Parishad appealed to the Bajali administration to stop illegal gambling during the celebration.

Hemanta Talukdar, president of Hindu Parishad, alleged that illegal gambling in various remote areas of the district led to the misuse of time and money of young people as well as society at large.

Talukdar said, "Earlier during Diwali celebration in the Bajali district, some gamblers allegedly ran illegal gambling in remote areas. Diwali is the festival of lights and not gambling. Hope the Assam government and the district administration will look into the matter."
