Hindu Yuva Chatra Parishad, Asom condemned arrest of Arnab Goswami

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of Hindu Yuva Chatra Parishad, Asom (HYCPA) vehemently condemned the arrest of journalist Arnab Goswami on 'baseless case treating him like a notorious criminal' from his own residence.

Through a press release, Lakhimpur HYCPA president JugmajyotiDutta and general secretary Rajib Sing said, "The arrest of Arnab Goswami is not an ordinary issue, but it is an attack on the fourth pillar of the democracy." The organization demanded the immediate release of the journalist. In view of growing harassment on journalists and conspiracy hatched against them from various sides, the organization also demanded the Union Government to implement effective laws to protect the journalists.
