Historic Jonbeel Mela begins At Jagiroad

JAGIROAD: The historic Jonbeel Mela with its traditional barter system began on Thursday at Jonbeel. After the community fishing, the Gova Raja Deep Singh Deoraja attended a feast on Thursday. The traditional barter amongst hills and plain tribes with their agricultural produce will take place on Friday. The Rajdarbar on January 18 will be graced by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal as the chief guest. The Chief Minister will hand over Raj Bhatta to 18 traditional Tiwa Rajas in the mela.
