Huge quantities of molasses, tobacco leaf & bidi seized from Doomdooma godown

DOOMDOOMA: Doomdooma Police has seized huge quantities of molasses, tobacco leaves and bidi kept illegally at a godown of a wholesale grocery shop situated at Netaji road of the town on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, Officer-in-charge Doomdooma Police Station, Inspector Ashim Bora and Sub-Inspector (SI) Chitraranjan Borgohain accompanied by Circle Officer (CO), Doomdooma Revenue Circle-cum-Assistant Commissioner Ranonmoy Bhardwaj, the team conducted the raid in the godown of the local business firm and seized the illegal items.

The Police has seized 3 lakhs bidis, 68 cartoons molasses (each cartoon containing 20 kgs of molasses) and 500 kg plain dry tobacco leaves.

Meanwhile, the Police has registered a case against the firm.

The police has swung into action against the drug peddlers and also the sellers of illicit liquor in the area the area uuring past few months.
