

Guwahati: Zubeen Garg, the singing sensation of Assam, stated on Monday that he will stop performing at Bihu festivities starting next year.
Zubeen responded to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's announcement of a change in Bihu systems by saying that if they want to alter the system, they should modify it.
He stated that if the Bihu system changes, the artists will confront difficulties. "Next year, I will turn 50 years old, and then I will quit Bihu," he stated.
Notably, the Assam government announced on Monday that it will grant financial assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh to Bihu Committees that have been staging Rongali Bihu festivities for more than ten years.
Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, said that the state government will provide Rs 1.5 lakh in financial help to Bihu Committees that have been hosting Rongali Bihu festivities for more than ten years.
Last year Zubeen Garg ended his Bihu Programme before 11 pm last night, following the Bihu SOPs as issued by the state government due to the rising covid cases in the state.
on the demise of Legendary singer Lata Mangeskar, Zubeen Garg said, "Her demise is a big loss to the country. It is an irreparable loss to the film and music industry. People of the state will remember her forever."
