Illegal Sal Logs Worth Rs 3 Lakh Seized At Kashiabari Village

Gossaigaon: The forest department led by Kachugaon DFO Motilal Basumatary, along with the 31st SSB and anti-corruption and investigation team, on Saturday jointly launched operation in various villages of Kachugaon forest division and seized a total of 31 illegal Sal logs. Out of the total 31 logs, 18 were seized from Mainaguri, Taisoguri and Lokriguri villages and in another operation at Kashiabari village, 13 more logs were recovered by the joint operation team. The seized items were handed over to the respective range offices under the Kachugaon Forest Division and the expected value of the recovered timber is around Rs 3 lakh.
