Illegal stone carrying dumpers seized by Nazira sub-divisional Forest officer

Joysagar: The Nazira sub-divisional Forest officer under the Sivasagar Forest Range has seized three dumpers from Gelakey area on Thursday. Sources informed that the dumpers were illegally transporting stones from the Lakhimijan Forest range area. The accused transporter allegedly did not pay due State Forest tax as well as State Transport Department tax. Some traders of Sivasagar, Nazira, Gelakey and Bihubar area has been allegedly smuggling forest properties like stones, sands, timbers and other valuables from various parts of the district.
