Illicit liquor destroyed in joint CRPF-Excise operation in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: In a significant joint operation, personnel of F/142 Bn CRPF, in coordination with the Excise department, Golaghat Circle, conducted a targeted drive against the illegal production of country-made liquor on Monday. Based on specific intelligence regarding the preparation of illicit liquor in the village areas of Tarani No. 1, Tarani No.2, and Kolajan No.6, a joint search operation was meticulously planned and executed. The operation was carried out by one section of F/142 Bn CRPF along with officials of Excise under the jurisdiction of Merapani police station and Sector “D”, DAB.

During the operation, the recovered materials were destroyed on the spot. Approximately 4,100 litres of raw materials/fermented wash, 60 litres of illicitly-distilled liquor, 4 distilling apparatus sets, various utensils and implements used in the production process were destroyed. No individuals were apprehended during the operation.  The successful execution of the operation demonstrated the firm commitment of the CRPF and Excise department towards curbing illicit liquor activities and maintaining law and order in the region.
