Illicit liquor seized by Sarupathar excise dept & Barpathar Police in Golaghat district

SARUPATHAR: The excise department of Sarupathar and the team of Barpathar Police jointly conducted a raid at Chakoli Missing gaon under Dhansiri subdivision in Golaghat district and seized about 1,000 litres of fermented and illicit liquor. Meanwhile, a case has been registered and two accused women were sent to the district jail of Golaghat as per the order of Subdivisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) of Dhansiri subdivision. According to the report, the 1,000 litres of illicit and fermented liquor, seized gur and other raw materials used for preparing illicit liquor were destroyed on the spot.
