GUWAHATI: Assam Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Member of Parliament (MP) Ramen Deka said that the image of Anand Mishra is synthetic and media-generated.

"The image of the present SP, Nagaon is synthetic and media-generated. A proper enquiry of his tenure as Dhubri SP is required and it will reveal many things. NIA investigation is the need of the hour," the BJP MP Ramen Deka said in a tweet.

Notably, in a major police reshuffle, Anand Mishra, the then superintendent of Dhubri police, has been transferred and posted as Nagaon SP.

However, the questions of his being honest and sincere arouse after the present Dhubri Deputy SP Jatin Das was arrested for his alleged nexus with smugglers in the district when an SP like Anand Mishra was posted as superior of the accused deputy SP and won the hearts of youths for his honestly.

According to police sources, based on credible information about the alleged nexus between Das and smugglers active in Sonahat International Border Trade Centre in Dhubri several raids were conducted

Dhubri Police seized unaccounted cash Rs 4.77 lakh from the duo (Rafikul Paramanik and Deputy SP Jatin Das) with some incriminating documents relating to a syndicate of smugglers dealing in stone gravels and other materials transported to Bangladesh. Rafikul Paramanik hails from South Tokrechara Part IV village under Golakganj Police Station in Dhubri district, a senior police official said. A Dhubri Police Station source said that the duo was arrested under a case registered with the Dhubri Police Station (881/21 under section 120B/409 IPC RW Section 7a /12 of Prevention of Corruption Act). Meanwhile, the two accused were produced before the Dhubri Court that remanded them to one-day police custody for interrogation.

People of Dhubri loved him as he was always there for him and listened and cared for every issue or complaint they had. The proof of this can be seen in videos (shared by Fans of Dhubri and others) that have gone viral of people turning up in large numbers to thank him.

On the other hand, just days after joining as the police chief of Nagaon, Anand Mishra helped stranded bus drivers and conductors of Kerala and making them aware of COVID protocol and how they should stay safe.

He was seen interacting with the bus drivers and conductors at a bus stand in Nagaon. He was talking to them about the restrictions on travelling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
