Dibrugarh: "Proper nutrition and health awareness are essential for those children who want to join the defence forces or Indian Army, and India always requires youths committed to fight for the motherland," said Ranjan Praksah, Assistant Commandant, CRPF Majuli, while attending as the special guest in the special outreach campaign on Poshan Abhiyan, organized by Field Outreach Bureau (FOB), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MI&B), Dibrugarh at Borpomuwa Mising village under Ujani Majuli Development Block, Majuli on Monday, a press communique of FOB, MI&B stated. He also appealed to mothers to send their sons and daughters to join the Army for a lucrative job as well as service to the motherland.
Addressing the gathering as resource person, Deepali Pegu, health worker of Majuli, organized an intensive discussion on low cost nutritional food. She disseminated basic information about the importance of nutrition for mother-child and teenagers. She also advised the gathering to be careful of their children's diet and to choose proper food items of nutritious value for the physical, mental and social health of their children.
Pranab Kumar Nath, Field Publicity Officer, in his address, cited the aims and objective of the programme. He said that many schemes had introduced by the present Central Government for the uplift of the general public and every individual must avail all the benefits of Central Government schemes. The formal awareness open session was presided over by Amiyo Kumbha, a senior citizen of the area, along with Ganga Ram Pegu. The programme concluded with spot quiz competition and prize distribution.
