Indian Journalist Union Stages Protest in Bongaigaon

Bongaigaon: Indian Journalist Union, Bongaigaon district committee observed protest day recently. Ranjit Kumar Sarma, IJU, Bongaigaon district president said that this protest had been observed countrywide for ensuring freedom of journalism. “Since the last few years, incidents of attack on journalists have increased. This is a dangerous threat to democracy. We protested against this to demand to ensure safety, security and freedom of journalists. We also submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Bongaigaon,” he said.
