BONGAIGAON: Indian Oil Bongaigaon Refinery has given around 500 beds to the Bongaigaon district administration to help in setting up quarantine centres in Bongaigaon district.

A Bongaigaon Refinery official said that the global pandemic had created an unprecedented crisis of high magnitude, leaving a large number of people vulnerable. In this crisis, Bongaigaon Refinery, as a responsible corporate, extended its support to the district administration of Bongaigaon and Chirang districts by providing beds for these quarantine centres. Bongaigaon Refinery had earlier provided 555 beds to Bongaigaon district, making it a cumulative of 1,055 beds to district administration, Bongaigaon. The Refinery had also provided 500 cushion beds to the district administration, Chirang for the same purpose, reiterating its commitment to the cause," the official said. In a symbolic gesture, Amarendra Kalita, ED & Refinery Head, BGR handed over one bed to Dr. MS Lakshmipriya, Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner.
