India's third mini food park under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sampada launched in Tezpur

TEZPUR: Under the special programme Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sampada which was launched in the nation in a bid to double farmers' income by 2022, India's third mini food park will come up in Depota area, 10 km from Tezpur town in Sonitpur district.

The construction work of the food park is going on in full swing and is being carried out by Surendra Agro-Processing Structure.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries Rameswar Teli visited the construction site and took a stock of the ongoing construction work.

Later addressing the media, Teli said that the food park is being constructed in an area of 30 bighas of land. He also said that farmers could directly sell their products in the food park, because of this food-park farmers' income will be doubled and 200 to 300 local people will get employment.
