BISWANATH CHARIALI: Union Minister for Fisheries Purushuttam Rupala virtually inaugurated an indigenous fish artificial breeding centre at Pabhoi Fish Farm under Biswanath subdivision set up with financial assistance from the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB).
In this regard, the Department of Fisheries, Government of Assam has provided assistance in the completion of the project with technical advice. The Union Minister lauded the work as a classic example of women empowerment. “Since the seedlings of these indigenous fishes are not readily available, we are all hopeful that this new additional indigenous fish artificial insemination project will make a breakthrough in the fisheries sector of Assam,” he added. Through this project, indigenous fish seedlings of Assam such as magur, pav, chital etc. will be produced.
