Ineligible beneficiaries of PM- KISAN asked to pay back received amount

KOKRAJHAR: The Deputy Commissioner of Chirang and District Agriculture Officer, Chirang jointly appealed to all the ineligible beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM- KISAN) to voluntarily pay back the amount credited in their accounts to the government.

Meanwhile, as per direction of the government, the district agriculture department has started 100 per cent verification process to find out the ineligible beneficiaries like government employees, pensioners drawing more than Rs.10,000 per month, persons with no agricultural land, having double account benefit and getting benefit of more than one member in a same family under the scheme.

In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner of Chirang along with district agriculture authority made an appeal to all such persons to get their names deleted first with the help of agriculture officials from the uploaded list and to pay back the whole amount so far received by them under the scheme to the district agriculture department at their Axis Bank (Bongaigaon branch) account No. 920010028538697.

Further, Chirang Deputy Commissioner Gautam Talukdar warned of legal action against those ineligible beneficiaries if they failed to do accordingly.
