MORIGAON: The Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) is on the brink of instability again. This unstable condition has persisted since the formation of the TAC in 1995.

Due to infighting among the members of the Tiwa Autonomous Council, again a no-confidence motion has been moved against three EMs by 17 members of the TAC for which development activities have been hampered.

Moving no-confidence motion against three EMs-Khagen Ch. Bordoloi, Dimbeswar Bordoloi, and Bindawati Bordoloi Konwar, 17 elected members wrote a letter to the CEM, Paban Manta on October 1, demanding him to call a special general meeting against them.

Though the State Government has been allotting crores of rupees to the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) for progress and development of the ethnic community, yet many times due to lobby politicians and mercenary attitude of a section of the members of the TAC, the plans for the development of the community have been hindered. According to sources, after receiving the letter, CEM Paban Manta called for a special general meeting on October 26.
