Institution Innovation Council of Biswanath College conducts national webinar

BISWANATH CHARIALI: A national webinar on 'Promoting Innovation Intellectual Property rights and start-ups in higher education institutions: Some post-COVID concerns' was hosted on Wednesday by Institution's Innovation Council of Biswanath College, a premier institution of higher education in Assam.

The webinar was conducted by Dr Debashis Sarma, coordinator of the webinar, while Dr Chintamoni Sharma, Principal of the college, inaugurated the webinar. Prof Chimun Kumar Nath, Head of the Department of Commerce, Dibrugarh University, elaborately discussed the topic. He said that entrepreneurs were no doubt catalysts of change and innovation. "The entrepreneurial growth in our country has triggered a host of economic benefits, together with new businesses, new jobs and new products and services. With the changing economic circumstances of the country where the government is more interested in generating entrepreneurial activities rather than promoting job security in the government sector, the growing concerns towards innovation and start-ups as a goal of higher educational institutions can be an ideal step in securing financial future of the students. The webinar on this contemporary topic was organized with an aim to infuse an idea of entrepreneurship among the young and also to encourage them to go for such ventures," he said.

Prof Karabi Gogoi summed up the views of the resource person in a lucid way after a brief interaction among the participants. Biswanath College is celebrating its diamond jubilee this year and has shouldered enormous responsibilities for the benefit of the students as well as the faculties by organizing several academic and other skill-related activities.
