Inter-district travel: 24 buses headed to Upper Assam from ISBT Guwahati

Guwahati: The two-day inter-district movement opened to citizens across Assam from July 30 in view of the upcoming Eid celebrations will end by today evening.

As per official reports, 24 buses would be traveling from ISBT in Guwahati to Upper Assam; these buses will ply to 55 locations across the State.

In view of the pandemic scenario, "only" 16 passengers (roughly around 50%) are allowed to travel in each of these buses.

It is to be mentioned that depending on the number of passengers who wish to travel, the number of buses might be increased.

In this regard, the Assam Government has issued certain norms on Thursday for the bus services which will move from one district to another; the people operating these vehicles shall have to follow certain rules and regulations in order to minimize the risk of transmission.
