Interaction With World Bank Official At Dikhowmukh College in Sivasagar

GAURISAGAR: A motivational interaction programme was held recently at Dikhowmukh College in Sivasagar between Prashanti Dutta, an official of the World Bank, Washington DC, and the students of Dikhowmukh College.

Prashanti is a prominent alumnus of Dikhowmukh College and former official of International Monetary Fund (IMF). She is a researcher in Harvard University and a globe-trotter. She is the daughter of Santashree Hembhai, the veteran Gandhian leader and founder of Shanti Sadhana Ashram, Guwahati. She revealed her interests and spoke about her work towards bridging the gap between the developed and underdeveloped communities with advanced technological exposure.

The agile and energetic Prashanti Dutta, while sharing her experiences as a young social activist, ignited the minds of the students with values like social accountability, environmental awareness and activities to protect it, thirst for knowledge to broaden mental horizon, self-reliance, curiosity, innovative practices with local resources and technological exposure.

Only recently, Prashanti attended the Global Peace Summit for Nobel Laureates in Mexico. She also had the opportunity to conduct a peace and non-violence workshop with Gandhian peace scholars from Stanford and also met the Nobel Peace Prize winners. In the interaction session, Principal of the college, Pabitra Dutta and senior Associate Professor Ananta Dutta were present.
