The Archaeological Department of Silpakou University, Bangkok had organized a seven-day international cultural exchange Programme in the auditorium of the university.

DEMOW: The Archaeological Department of Silpakou University, Bangkok had organized a seven-day international cultural exchange Programme in the auditorium of the university. The International cultural exchange programme was held from July 23 to July 29. The programme was inaugurated by Ambassador Nagesh Singh. Dr Damronphon Inchan, Dean of the Silpakou University anchored the programme.

A 9-member representative team of Moran Tai Studies and Research Institute took part in the programme. Dr Bipul Gogoi, retired Vice-Principal of Demow College and a resident of Demow Kushal Path took part in the programme. Dr.Bipul Gogoi spoke on “Similarities between Tai-Ahom of Assam and Thais of Thailand.”

In his lecture, Dr Bipul Gogoi spoke about the language, religion, agricultural system, food habit, dress, traditional residence, burial system etc. Basanta Phukan, a representative of Moran Tai Studies and Research Institute spoke on “Tai Manuscript”. Gyanananda Phukan, another representative of Moran Tai Studies and Research Institute spoke on “Tai Ahom Religion”. Pradip Deodhai Phukan and Atul Baruah, both seniors representatives of Moran Tai Studies and Research Institute also took part in the programme. The representative of Moran Tai Studies and Research Institute also visited various areas of Bangkok. In the seven-day programme, around 40 representatives from Northeast took part.
