International Tea Day celebrated in Jorhat

JORHAT: Achyut Prasad Gogoi, a small tea grower of Selenghat under Mariani revenue circle in the district and secretary of All India Small Tea Growers' Association on Saturday celebrated International Tea Day by distributing green tea made by his firm.

The reputed tea maker who exports green and other teas, spoke about the importance of producing tea organically and the different methods in which it could be done. Gogoi, in his speech also spoke in details about the different organic fertilisers and pesticides that could be used to make organic green tea.

Gogoi further said that every year he would distribute green tea free of cost to make it popular among the people of the area and also make the people aware of its benefits. Gogoi also opened an outlet in which an organic fertiliser made up of cow urine and vermi compose would be sold.
