IPL betting racket busted in Chirang, One Arrested

Chirang: Based on input, Chirang Police on Friday busted an Indian Premier League (IPL) betting racket in Bijni area under Chirang District and arrested one person in connection to the incident.

The arrested person was identified as Kartik Das (25).

Speaking to the media, Sub Divisional Police officer, Bijni Police, Prakash Medhi said, "We have arrested one person in connection to the matter, and recovered Rs 35,890 cash, one mobile handset and one sim card from his possession. We also suspect that there might a few more people who are engaged in IPL gambling and are operating in the area. We are continuing with our operation."

Meanwhile, a case has been registered in connection to the matter at Bijni Police Station.
