Haflong: The Jadikhe Naisho Hoshom (JNH) - Dimasa apex body, condemned the alleged kidnapping of Santosh Hojai from his residence on April 24.

Santosh Hojai, a resident of Gamadi Hawar, Harangajao, and a contractor by profession, was allegedly kidnapped from his residence on April 24 by a group of five unidentified miscreants, at the time when the whole of Dima Hasao, along with the rest of the country, was under lockdown and movement of people and vehicles was restricted.

In a press release, Ronjolal Hakmaosa, working president of JNH (CC) Dima Hasao, said on Monday, “According to the statement of victim’s wife Joyanto Hojai, the miscreants in civil dress came to their house in a white Bolero at 6 pm on April 24 on the pretext of seeking help from her husband to pull out their Alto car with the JCB, which according to them was stuck in a nearby area. When the victim’s wife went away from the talk, the five miscreants overpowered her husband and dragged him inside the white Bolero and fled.”

He said that the All Apex Bodies Co-Ordination Committee, which is an umbrella organization of 11 apex bodies of Dima Hasao, had met the Superintendent of Police of Dima Hasao and submitted memorandum urging immediate intervention for the victim’s safe release. He said that the Jadikhe Naisho Hoshom would never tolerate such ‘cowardice and inhuman activities’.

“We strongly condemn the kidnapping of Santosh Hojai from his residence. Everything has its limit, whoever did it for whatsoever reason should immediately claim the responsibility and release him safe and sound. At the same time, we also appeal to the police administration of Dima Hasao to immediately hunt down the five miscreants using all force, strength and available recourses and to release Santosh Hojai safe and sound from the clutch of the five miscreants,” said Hakmaosa.
