Jail inmate in Mangaldai District detected with COVID-19 positive

MANGALDAI: An Under Trial Prisoner (UTP) lodged in Mangaldai District Jail was detected with COVID-19 on Monday evening. He has been identified as Porijol Ali, originally a resident of No. 1 Apariya -a riverine char of River Brahmaputra under Mangaldai Police Station. Meanwhile, medical staff, senior police officials and officials of the district administration rushed to the jail. He is likely to be shifted to the isolation ward of the COVID hospital at Mangaldai.
