Jeep Safari Restricted In Kaziranga National Park On 4 Feb In Wake Of G20 Meeting
Jeep safari for general public will be paused in Bagori and Agoratoli ranges of Kaziranga National Park.
GUWAHATI : Following the G20 delegates, jeep safari at the Kaziranga National Park in Assam has been restricted on the 4th of February. Assam Forest Department declared this on 19th of January.
According to the statement issued by the forest department, jeep safari for the general public will be paused in Bagori and Agoratoli ranges of Kaziranga National Park.
The notice assigned by the Divisional Forest Officer of eastern Assam wildlife division, mentioned the visit of G20 delegates to KNP on 4th of February, 2023. However, elephant safari will continue in both the ranges for the mentioned date, stated the notice.
Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma on 4th January, held a meeting along with his cabinet personnels and discussed specific directives in a view of smooth functioning of the programme. It is worth mentioning here that, Assam is all set to welcome and host five G20 meetings in 2023.
According to the schedule, the first meeting will be held in Guwahati on 2nd February, 2023. The theme will revolve around Sustainable Finance Working Group Meeting under the Union Ministry of Finance. On 6th February, the second meeting will be based on Youth 20 Inception Meeting, while on 13th March, 2023, the meeting will be based on SAI 20 Inception meeting.
An event has been scheduled on 3rd April, 2023, based on 2nd Employment Working Group Meeting, followed by the RIIG Side Event on 24th March, which will be conducted in Assam's Dibrugarh district.
The venue was concluded through a virtual conference between Narendra Modi and several Chief ministers and Governors of varied states on Friday. Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, recently visited Guwahati to review preparations of the inception meeting.
The minister visited several venues including the IIT Guwahati, Sankardev Kalakshetra and conducted meetings and discussions with concerned officials of the state administration.
