Job Fair: Govt Suspends Two Officials of District Employment Exchange For Mismanagement

Guwahati: The Assam Government on Friday suspended two top officials from the District Employment Exchange failing to manage the event properly.

The suspended officials are T. Doungel, Joint Director, Employment and Lipika Datta, Assistant Director of Employment, District Employment Exchange, Guwahati.

A large number of government job seekers visited the job fair hosted by the district employment exchange campus located in Rehabari, Guwahati on Thursday. However, they returned disappointed.

The job fair organized by the Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department across the State on Thursday drew thousands of job seekers.

Some of them had come from outside of Guwahati but eventually they all returned with empty hand.

Job fairs were held at Guwahati, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sonari, Nalbari, Nagaon, Barpeta, Jorhat, Bongaigaon, Morigaon, South Salmara (Mankachar), Dhubri, Goalpara, North lakhimpur, Mangaldai, Tezpur, Biswanath Chariali, Hojai and Golaghat.

Long queues of job aspirants were seen in the job fairs in their respective centres. All Graduates, B Pharma, M Pharma, B Techs, Diploma (Civil) holders, Class 10, 12 and ITI pass candidates were eligible for the walk-in-interview.

In Guwahati, the job fair was held at the District Employment Office, Rehabari which saw the presence of several recruiters. Among the participating employers were Ajanta Pharma Limited, Amrit Cement, Britannia Industries, Radisson Blu Hotels, ITC Limited, Kishlay Food Products, Renault TI Assam, Topcem Cement, Bimal Auto and several others.
