Jorhat Police arrests three for IPL betting

IPL betting led to the arrest of three accused in Titabor, Jorhat.

Jorhat: The Jorhat Police conducted an IPL betting drive in Titabor. During the drive which was conducted on Friday, three accused persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in betting in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) in Jorhat district.

The three arrested have been identified as Madhab Jyoti Gogoi (30), Nilomoni Das (33), and Debajit Gogoi (28).

The Jorhat police recovered notebooks, mobile phones, and Rs. 1,04,100 from them. The information was shared on twitter by the Jorhat Police.

In connection with IPL Betting in Jorhat district, a drive was conducted in Titabor and 1.Sri Madhab Jyoti Saikia (30), 2.Sri Nilomoni Das (33), 3.Sri Debajit Gogoi (28) were arrested.

The IPL 2020, which was earlier scheduled to start from March 2020, started on September 19 due to the global pandemic. There have been various cases of betting in IPL matches across the country.
