DHUBRI: Employees of the Sub-Ordinate Judicial Courts of Assam affiliated to All Assam Judicial Employees’ Association (AAJEA) will observe one-day non-cooperation during office hours on September 12 across the State in protest against non-fulfilment of their long-pending demands. A resolution was adopted in an emergent general meeting of AAJEA held recently.
A source in the association alleged that in spite of memorandum submitted to the State Government for implementation of the Justice Shetty Commission recommendations as well as publication of service rule of the judicial employees, nothing tangible had been done in this direction to fulfill the demands so far.
The source alleged that recommendation of Shetty Commission as regards to Bench Assistant Grade-1,Grade-2,Grade-3, re-designation of Sheristadar of DJ and other legal statutes as Chief Administrative Officer, Regular T.A of Process Server, 5 per cent of the basic pay as duty allowance in Lok Adalat and service rule had not also been implemented yet.
Moreover, there will also be agitation for non-inclusion of pay scale as well as posts of the staff of the sub-ordinate judiciary in Assam in Revision of Pay, 2017, and advance increment to the law graduate employees, the source further alleged.
General Secretary of AAJEA, Ananta Prasad, while expressing resentment at the Dhubri District and Session Judge premises for unusual delay in publication of the same, said that the association had moved from pillar to post, including approaching Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to intervene in the matter. But no step whatsoever was taken so far to fulfill the demands of the judicial employees.
“Under the circumstance, we find no other way but to go for the agitation to get our demands fulfilled. Protest in the form of non-cooperation will be observed on September 12 in the first phase while next round of agitational programme will be announced in the days to come,” Prasad added.
