Kalaigaon Circle Officer motivates youngsters on Independence Day

KALAIGAON: 73rd Independence Day was celebrated at Kalaigaon with funfair and gaiety. Biraj Kumar Barua, Circle Officer of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle hoisted the tricolor at Gandhi Bakori playground before taking salute of march-past contingents at a mass gathering of thousands of people at Kalaigaon on Thursday. On the occasion of the national programme, Circle Officer Baruah offered hearty tribute to thousands of people who had sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Mother India. He specially mentioned the contribution of freedom fighters of Kalaigaon for sacrificing their prime youth for the freedom of India. He also spoke on abolishing of social evils and maintenance of a clean environment and communal harmony. He appealed to the people to offer support and involvement in all development and welfare-related activities of the government. Various cultural and sports events were also organized on the occasion. In march-past, Kalaigaon HS School, Jnandeep Academy and Vivid Academy won first three prizes. Tulika Bora, Bhadra Kanta Basumatari, Saddam Hussain, Bijit Saikia, Binoy Das, Rajendra Rabha, Mahadeb Nath were felicitated for their contributions in respective fields.
