Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) cadre nabbed in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: A joint team of the police and army on Thursday apprehended a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) along with fire arms and ammunition.

The senior police officer told the media persons that on January 14 at around 3 pm, a joint operation was launched by Kokrajhar Battalion (Army camp at Kachugaon) and Assam Police from Kachugaon PS under ASP Siddharth Nahar to nab a cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organization based on specific intelligence input.

Sources said that Pradip Ray alias Changma of Ankwrbari village under PS Dhaligaon, a cadre of KLO outfit, was apprehended by the joint team at 6 pm near the paddy field next to Kalipukhuri in Salakati area under Kokrajhar PS.

The joint recovered one 7.65mm pistol, a magazine and 6 rounds live ammunition of 7.65mm pistol. The suspect is in custody of Kokrajhar police station for further investigation.
