LANDSLIDES IN ASSAM:

Landslide has emerged as a major problem in Assam after the first spell of pre-monsoon rains lashed several parts of Assam after the weakening of the Cyclone Amphan. Tragedy struck the three Barak valley districts of Cachar, Karimganj, and Hailakandi on June 2 as at least 28 persons were crushed to death following a series of landslides triggered by incessant rains in the region.

Additionally, several landslides were also reported in Guwahati's hilly areas, which caused significant damage to properties.
