Kamrup(M) district administration urges Assam government for restaurant timing extension

Guwahati: In view of the durga puja festivities, the Kamrup (M) district administration has submitted a request to the government of Assam for allowance of restaurants across Guwahati to operate till 11 PM during the three days of Durga puja.

The Assam government had already issued a set of guidelines for Durga Puja festivities where the government urged all restaurants to shut down by 9 PM during these three days.

Meanwhile, the All Assam Restaurant Association has requested for the extension of the timing.

As per reports, the deputy commissioner of Kamrup (M) Biswajit Pegu has also requested the Assam government for extension of restaurant timing.

It is to be mentioned that the government is yet to approve the decision.
