Diphu: “The Karbi People Liberation Tiger (KPLT) was established on January 8, 2011, to help the people of Karbi Anglong and to fulfill their demand for a separate state. They organized themselves by equipping weapons. But thereafter they realized that weapons would not work. So they announced a ceasefire on October 20, 2016. But our demand for separate state under Article 244(A) must be fulfilled at the earliest for which we forwarded a memorandum to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in New Delhi during the foundation-laying ceremony of Karbi Bhavan and Dimasa Bhavan on August 19,” said Karbi People Liberation Tiger vice-president Archak Timung, general secretary Lotichari Kangtang Bey and other leaders during a press conference.
