Kidnapped person Raju Mishra of Ramnathpur village rescued in Hailakandi

Hailakandi: Raju Mishra of Ramnathpur village who was kidnapped by a breakaway armed group of suspected BRAU cadres (under ceasefire) was rescued on Sunday. Mishra, 32, son of Ranju Mishra was kidnapped by the armed BRAU militant group from close to Assam-Mizoram border area under Ramnathpur Police Station on March 2.

Ramnathpur Police Station registered a case No.17/20, U/S- 364(A)/325 IPC, R/W Section 27 of Arms Act. Disclosing the rescue of the victim from the clutches of BRAU militant outfit, Superintendent of Police, Pabindra Kumar Nath said Mishra has been safely rescued by the district police from remote Bagcherra-Riflemara area under Ramnathpur PS close to the inter-state border after continued strenuous combing operations in the deep jungles. Nath said seven numbers of accused persons have been arrested and produced in the court in connection with the kidnapping case.
