DIPHU: The Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) has demanded that the recent case of kidnapping and subsequent rescue of trader Bijoy Agarwala should be handed to the CBI to get to the bottom of the incident as the victim was rescued from the house of Tapan Teron, who happens to be the younger brother of Ratan Teron, president of BJP Karbi Anglong district unit and also Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council holding the important portfolio of Handloom and Textile and Town and Country Planning Department.

Tapan Teron had even contested in the previous Assembly election. The ASDC has demanded that Ratan Teron should be immediately removed from the post of president of the BJP Karbi Anglong district unit and also as Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.

He should also be arrested, said ASDC leader Dainiel Teron during a press conference on Saturday. Further, the ASDC has demanded that the BJP should clarify as to what action it was going to take.
