Kokrajhar Bar Association members stage dharna

KOKRAJHAR: As per the decision of the Bar Council of Assam, Arunachal, Nagaland, Mizoram and Sikkim, the Kokrajhar Bar Association also staged an hour-long dharna in the premises of Kokrajhar District and Session Judge Court on Thursday demanding the resumption of courts. A good number of members of Kokrajhar Bar Council took part the sit-in.

The president of Kokrajhar Bar Council, Anil Kr. Brahma said the members of the district bar association joined the sit-in as per the decision of the Bar Councils of the five north-eastern States demanding early resumption of courts. He said their main demands were re-opening of physical court and bar associations so that court cases could proceed. He also said that many people with various pending cases were facing problems due to closure of session courts and bar councils.
