Kokrajhar: Kokrajhar boy Fwwrman Brahma has cracked the UPSC examination, 2018 with all-India rank of 429, giving the entire district a strong reason to rejoice. Fwrman Brahma is the son of Dhaneswar Brahma, an employee of the office of the Directorate of Education, BTC, and Bhagirathi Brahma, a school teacher of Kokrajhari village in Kokrajhar town.
A B.Tech graduate in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology at Durgapur, Fwwrman Brahma started his schooling from Sister Margaret School and later in Don Bosco School, Kokrajhar before moving to SAI Vikash, Visakhapatnam for his 10+2 (Higher Secondary). This is his third attempt in the UPSC examination.
Talking to reporters on Saturday in Kokrajhar, Fwwrman Barham said, “This is my third attempt. I have cracked the UPSC examination this year and I am very happy and satisfied.” He said that that his first preference was joining the IAS to serve the people.
Brahma said, “Wherever I am posted, I will work with dedication, honesty and dignity.”
He added that the UPSC exam was not so tough but the syllabus was vast and one needed to study consistently with strategy and hard work to get success. He said after his college studies, he went for 10 months UPSC coaching in Delhi and prepared to clear the UPSC examination. He gave credit to his parents, teachers, relatives and friends for supporting and encouraging him.
Brahma also advised those who were preparing for the UPSC examination to work hard and prepare well. Various organizations and individuals visited Brahma’s residence and congratulated him for the success and bringing name and fame to Kokrajhar and Assam. The All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) conveyed heartiest congratulations to the candidates who passed the UPSC exam - Fwwrman Brahma and Taposh Basumatary (rank 645). The ABSU leaders said the two would inspire many students to study hard for the UPSC examination. Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) executive member Doneswar Goyary, and Nabajyati Ray, assistant general secretary, also visited Fwwrman Brahma’s house and felicitated him with Bodo traditional Aronai.
A total of 13 candidates from Assam have cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) 2018 examination, results of which were declared on Friday. Tanmay Basisth Sharma clinched 10th position in the final exam, Mriganka Sekhar Pathak secured 103 rank while Urtirna Ranjita Sharma secured 130 rank.
