Krishi Vigyan Kendra Darrang gets possession of land after 15 years

MANGALDAI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Darrang, after a long wait of 15 years, on Thursday finally took over the possession of land measuring 10 hectares for the construction of the permanent complex of KVK.

The district administration of Darrang 15 years back had allotted the plot of land at village Gelaidingi near Mangaldai under Revenue Circle, but the complex was temporarily under possession of a SSB camp. The administration had already made alternative arrangement for the permanent complex of SSB. On Thursday, the district administration conducted an eviction drive to evict the encroachers from the plot of land already allotted in the name of KVK, Darrang.

Circle Officer of Dalgaon Revenue Circle, Samir Choudhury, in presence of Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Rupam Phukan and Officer in-charge of Mangaldai Police Station, Inspector Mosco Saikia conducted the eviction drive and handed over the possession of the land to Chief Scientist Dr. Abdul Hafiz and other officials of KVK Darrang.
