Ladakh Team Visits Kokrajhar, Takes Ideas on Running of Council

KOKRAJHAR: A four-member delegation team from Ladakh, led by Dr. Ishey Namgyal, president of Municipal Committee, Leh-Ladakh, visited Kokrajhar, the headquarter town of BTC on Saturday.

The delegation comprising Er Punchok Tashi, Executive Councillor (EC) of Tourism, Ashraf Barcha, EC of Health, Leh and Mohd Ali Chandan, EC, Ladakh Autonomous Council, Kargil also visited the Assembly and Secretariat of BTC at Bodofa Nwgwr, Kokrajhar to take ideas on running the council as Ladakh is going to be functional on October 31 on the occasion of the celebration of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Central Institute of Technology (CIT).

The guests from Ladakh were warmly welcomed and felicitated with traditional Aronai and ‘Indi coat’ in the Secretariat by the officers of the council. The president of Municipal Committee, Ladakh Namgyal also felicitated BTC EM Doneswar Goyary with their traditional scarf.

There was a brief meeting at the conference hall at the BTC Secretariat between the two sides where higher officials of BTC also attended. They discussed on BTC land act and its protection mechanism, job reservation, tourism and fund flow from the Government of India. They also discussed other issues. The delegation held an interaction with the Registrar of CIT, Chaitali Brahma over the academic and administrative system of the institution.
