Lakhimpur DC Dr. Jeevan B approves 112 schemes for implementation during lockdown

LAKHIMPUR: Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur-cum-District Magistrate Dr. Jeevan B has accorded approval for a total of 112 schemes for implementation during the lockdown period in the district.

The DC has granted the approval of these works under seven departments through an order No. LMJ. 8/2020/65 dated Lakhimpur, April 17, 2020. Out of them, approval is accorded to 18 schemes under PWD (Building) while two schemes are approved under Public Health and Engineering Department. Construction of Circuit Houses in North Lakhimpur and Dhakuakhana, Model Residential School at Joyhing, Border Out Post (BOP) at Moinajuli, Sports Complex at Saboti, Youth Centre in Dhakuakhana, B.Ed College at Ghilamora along with other 11 schemes have been approved for implementation under PWD (Building). Construction of NOLB IHHL and all ongoing works of PWS schemes are approved under PHE Department.

On the other hand, 8 schemes under PWD (Roads), Dhakuakhana Division, one scheme under Irrigation Department, 10 schemes under Soil Conservation Department, 68 schemes under PWD (Roads), North Lakhimpur Division and five schemes under Water Resources Department have been approved for implementation during the lockdown. The immediate measures taken for the restoration of flood damages to Subansiri right bank embankment at Ghancharai in between Ch-34500m to 37100m including pro-siltation measures under SDRF for 2018-19, construction of guide dam along with anti-erosion measures to save the North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) complex from the inundation and erosion caused by river Somdiri, flood management of River Ranganadi along with river training works on both embankments, flood management of River Dikrong along with river training works on both embankments and protection work of right bank of river Subansiri at Hekerajan near Boginadi (Ph-1) have been approved for implementation under Water Resources Department.
