Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner Dr Jeevan B holds coordination meeting with North Eastern Electric Power Corporation

LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur Deputy Commissioner Dr Jeevan B suggested the officers of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Limited to serve immediate information to District Administration and the Water Resources Department about any kind of emergency alert regarding discharge of excess water from the Ranganadi Hydro Electric Project (RHEP). He made this suggestion in the coordination meeting which was held on Friday at the conference hall of his office for tackling the flood problems in the district during the upcoming rainy season.

In the meeting, discussion about the major flood problems in the downstream of the river Ranganadi in Lakhimpur district caused by the discharge of excess water from RHEP, affecting the life and properties, was held with detailed explanation. Chairing the event, the DC instructed NEEPCO to initiate all precautionary measures in this regard. The ADC of Papumpare district of Arunachal Pradesh, Circle Officers of Lakhimpur, Naoboicha, Narayanpur, Bihpuriya Revenue Circles, Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer of Lakhimpur WRD, NEEPCO officers of RHEP of Yazali and Pare Hydro Electric Project of Doimukh, Executive Engineer of Central WRD at Naharlagun, DIPRO of Lakhimpur, Project Manger of District Disaster Management Agency were present in the meeting.
