Lakhimpur Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti Lodges Complaint

LAKHIMPUR: A private sector nursing home of North Lakhimpur town, is in the news again for allegedly violating the restrictions imposed by the Lakhimpur district administration. In this regard, the district unit of Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) filed a complaint against the nursing home to the Joint Director of District Health Society and demanded immediate action.

Taking strict action, the district administration closed the nursing home temporarily for violating the Clinical Establishment Act after it allegedly treated a patient with expired saline and charged a large amount of medical fees from another patient in August last year. Several organizations of the district staged strong protest against the misdeeds of the nursing home. Of late, MASS alleged that the physician-cum-proprietor of the nursing home violated the administrative restrictions and performed an operation on December 29.
