Lakhimpur: Youth drowns in Ranganadi river while taking bath

Lakhimpur: A Youth named Imran Hussain (18) drowned in Ranganadi river on Sunday. He was the son of Ratul Hussain, a resident of Phukanarhat village under Panigaon Police Station of Lakhimpur.

Officials of Lakhimpur Police said that the youth was washed away by the rapid current of the river while he was swimming with two friends.

All of them went to take a bath in the river which was at least five kilometres away from their native village. Though the rescue operation was on, the youth was untraceable till filing of the report.
