Land Dispute Leads To The Death Of Two Brothers In Assam

Barpeta: On Saturday, two brothers were allegedly stabbed to death by a group of people over a land dispute in Assam. The incident is said to have taken place at Garemari village in the Barpeta district of the state. 

According to police sources, the group of people attacked the two brothers with a sharp knife and other weapons in the village that falls under the jurisdiction of the Barpeta Sadar Police Station.

The two brothers could not survive the deadly attack and succumbed to their injuries.

As per the statements made by the family members of the deceased, the group of attackers wanted to seize a and which belonged to one of the brothers. This led to a dispute which ultimately resulted in the death of the two brothers. The attackers are reportedly residents of the nearby Charakpara village.

The attackers soon left the scene after killing the two brothers.

One of the officials said that the police are currently conducting an investigation to nab the culprits.

The bodies of the two brothers were later sent for postmortem.

Last week, the body of a youth bearing cut marks was found in a drain in the Bhangagarh area in Guwahati.

The main accused was later arrested by the police and revealed that the deceased had borrowed money from him.
