Land Dispute Resolved, Land Owner Donates Land to Puja Committee in Dhekiajuli

DHEKIAJULI: The long-standing land dispute between Navaratna Durga Puja Committee and Rowta Constituency MCL Alindra Mochahary came to an end on Monday. The settlement was reached in presence of Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle Officer Sabyasachi Kashyap, OC Dhekiajuli Police Station, the Navaratna Durga Puja Committee members and other noted personalities of Dhekiajuli town.

As per the settlement, Alindra Mochahary, the owner of the disputed land, donated 15 lessa land to Navaratna Durga Puja Committee with effect from September 3. A meeting was held at the disputed site on Monday morning. The meeting was attended by the circle officer, Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle, OC of Dhekiajuli Police Station, Alindra Mochahary, Deepa Das, former ward commissioner of ward no. 10, Dhekiajuli, Nripati Chakladar, central executive member of Hindu Yuba Chatra Parishad, Mrinal Paul, secretary of Navaratna Durga Puja Committee and other noted persons.

The settlement has brought to an end a decade-old bitter dispute between the landowner and the Navaratna Durga Puja Committee. When contacted, the Circle Officer of Dhekiajuli Revenue Circle said that he took initiatives to solve this problem amicably among all the stakeholders.
