HAFLONG: Trains running through Dima Hasao district in Assam were stranded at several stations due to a landslide near Mupa station. Affected trains include the Silchar-Guwahati train at Mupa, the LTT train at New Haflong, and the Kanchanjunga Express, among others. According to railway officials, the train operations will resume only after the landslide debris is cleared from the track. Efforts were underway to restore normalcy and resume train services as soon as possible.
Meanwhile the Chief Public Relations officer of NF railway informed that trains running in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill section got disrupted on Thursday afternoon due to a landslide at KM- 51/2-3 between Dihakho-Mupa stations. On receiving information about the same, senior railway officials reached the site to start restoration work. As a result of the landslide, the track was suspended until clearance of the boulders and earth that had fallen on it.
Help desks were opened to facilitate passengers in Guwahati, Lumding, Silchar, Badarpur and Agartala stations. The situation was being continuously monitored by the railway authorities.
