LDCC celebrates birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur District Congress Committee (LDCC) celebrated the 103rd birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on Thursday.

On this occasion, LDCC organized a public programme at Rajiv Bhavan in North Lakhimpur town. The programme began with the garlanding to the portrait of Indira Gandhi by LDCC president Dr. Joy Prakash Das and the other dignitaries of the party. In the commemoration programme, organized on the occasion, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Abhijit Hazarika, former LDCC president Kan Nath Phukan and LDCC vice president Opel Hazarika delivered speech on the life and works of Indira Gandhi. The programme commenced with the LDCC president in the chair.

It was followed by an organizational meeting of LDCC wherein Abhijit Hazarika laid stress on the strengthening of the organizational base of the party and its brother-sister organizations in the district.
